"What an amazingly crafted collection of short stories that really jog the imagination!! We never know why that young person we know is always seemingly staring off into space. The stories creatures and adventures that fill their minds can take us all to a place or two!! Job well done!!! And on a personal note I've learned some great things about the power of short stories. Its truly a a gift very few writers have!"

"The Unlucky Leprechaun and Other Strange and Wonderful Tales by Raymond James Francis is an awesome compilation of short stories about mythical creatures. The Unlucky Leprechaun is about a school girl who was always lagging behind and daydreaming. One day she meets a red, not green, leprechaun and they become lifelong friends. The girl soon discovers why Greencorn is red and there is a very good reason. You will have to read this amazing story to find out why. There is a hand-drawn image for each story which helps bring it to life."

Life as an Author:

Book Background:

this collection has taken me about ten years to put together (why so long I hear you ask, well thank you for reminding its been that long!) well with getting married and becoming a father oh I also am a big fan of lets do it tomorrow kind of behaviour. anyway back to the book, I can still recall with fond memories the stories I was told when I was young. Tales of King Arthur sleeping in a cave (old folklore) and yes I did have days when I wondered what would happen if I found such a cave. tales of the troll and the bridge, the man in the moon. from that time I enjoyed all tales be it folklore, legends and the classics and so I wanted to make my own retelling of such tales, the tale of the sleeping knight as you can guess is the King Arthur one, I have put twists in them and have added my own version of the man in the moon, as this tale has been told so many times I hope that my version of the man of the moon can be enjoyed as much as I had fun in writing it.This is my first attempt at a book so I hope you will join me in this adventure , not that this book is rubbish I must add as I have had some great feedback from it and I must add not just my family and friends. let me know your thoughts on this book and I am happy to respond.

As well as writing and telling tales, Raymond  can be found doing puppet shows which infuses his love for story telling at present this is only on youtube and can be found under the name of `the not so lazy puppet show` . the shows are just a bit of fun as I play a character who has to work with two puppets bringing a big puppet show to the world of you tube..............here are just some of the ideas:  Bobby Bubble has new funded the team to set up a new radio station live from the sofa. but hang on why the phone call? and what is happening to the world? is that a ufo? whats a flying pan and aliens got to do with this radio station. so many questions, its best to sit down and find out the answers. there was even time travel going on as one of the puppets was sent into the future via time travel machine in the form of a shopping trolley, and not forgetting the carrot song.

It`s a blog folks

Ok I thought I would try something new here and that is a blog, I will keep it short and sweet and will do my best to keep it updated. So what's on my mind I hear you say, and if you didn't I hope you don't mind me putting words in your head. I was pondering the other day about life, I started my book for my son and now he is four years old. He is now at school, I still remember his first words when I picked him up from school and that was `is it time for bed` which made me smile. Everyday my son comes up with a saying or the way he plays which is a joy to watch, I feel very proud to have that time with him.  I wonder what kind of father I am to him and how he will view me as he gets older, as I only get one go at this, I feel that I am doing just fine. So whats this got to do with my book? hmmm not sure as I am going to use this part of my author page as a short section for my rants, thoughts and views. RF: 23rd November 2016
